Chapter 4: Udon's Arrow

Udon was running down the road anxious to use his new bow and arrows that Kiba gave him. Tenten and Moegi was running after him along with a friend. The friend has a brown hair, black eyes, wore a light green tunic, green pants and black boots named Konohamaru.

They arrived at the field as Udon planned to use his bow and arrow safely, Konohamaru looked impressed at what Udon just got.

“Gee, did Kiba really give it to you?” Konohamaru asked amazed.

Kiba had hardly any time to give gifts because he's always on the run, but anyone who got anything from him was a lucky guy.

“Yeah, and this is his own hat too.” Udon said proudly.

He pointed to the hat, Kiba gave him.

“Gee, I'd sure like to shoot your bow and arrow.” Konohamaru said.

“Let me try it, Udon.” Moegi said as she ran forward.

“Oh, no, you don't? I'm gonna shoot it first.” Udon said.

Moegi glares at him.

Udon aimed his arrow, ready to fire, much to everybody's excitement/concern.

“You're pointin' it too high.” Tenten said.

“I'm not either. Watch this.” Udon answered.

He shot the arrow way too high as it flew upward and over to the castle of Prince Itachi. The kids stood there helplessly.

“Uh-oh. Now you done it.” Konohamaru said.

“Right in Prince Itachi’s backyard.” Tenten added.

Udon and the others ran to the gate. Udon was about to go in, but he remembered.

“Udon, you can't go in there.” Moegi warned Udon.

“Yeah. Prince Itachi will chop off your head.” Konohamaru said. He hid in his tunic to prove his point. “Like this.”

“Oh, I don't care. I gotta get my arrow.” Udon said.

“Wait a minute. Konohamaru might tattle on you.” Tenten said.

“Yeah, Konohamaru. You gotta take the oath.” Udon said.

“An oath?” Konohamaru said.

“Put your hand on your heart and cross your eyes.” Udon said. Everyone did and Udon recites. “Spiders, snakes and a lizard head.”

“Spiders, snakes and a lizard's head.” Konohamaru repeated.

“If I tattletale, I'll die till I'm dead.” Udon finished.

“If I tattletale, I'll die till I'm dead.” Konohamaru said.

Udon tiptoed through the gate and went into the garden as Tenten, Moegi and Konohamaru. He then heard some laughing. He peeked through the bushes to see two girls playing badminton.

The first was a 16 year old girl with long dark blue hair, white eyes, lavender shawl, purple headdress and dress, pink blouse with long puffy sleeves, pinkish-white bloomers, white petticoat and purple ballet shoe; she’s Hinata, the girl who lived in the castle with Prince Itachi.

The second and the girl who was playing with Hinata was a 17 year old girl with straight short bright pink hair, green eyes and she wore blue cap and dress with blue ballet shoe; she's Sakura.

“It's your turn to serve, Hinata dear.” Sakura said, ready continuing the game.

“Are you ready, Sakura?” Hinata said.

“Oh, as your lady-in-waiting, I'm waiting.” Sakura said.

“I'm getting too old for this.” Sakura said.

“Sakura, that was a good shot.” Hinata said.

“You're not bad yourself, dear. Oh, my feet are killing me.” Sakura added.

Hinata hit the birdie, but she hit it too high.

The birdie flew back down towards Sakura as she's about to hit it, but misses and the birdie fell somewhere in her dress! Sakura looked surprised and moved like crazy to get the birdie out of her dress.

“Where is it? Did you lose it?” Hinata asked.

“It must be in there someplace.” Sakura replied stubbornly, trying to shake the birdie out of her.

“Oh, Sakura, you look so silly.” Hinata said, laughing.

Udon walked quietly towards the arrow.

“Oh, look. There it is behind you.” Hinata said.

She was about to retrieve the birdie which is next to the arrow. As Udon was about to get it, he looked face to face with Hinata with a scared look.

“Oh! Well, hello. Where did you come from?” Hinata asked.

“Oh, please don't tell Prince Itachi.” Udon said. “Mama said he'll chop off my head.”

“Oh, don't be afraid. You've done nothing wrong.” Hinata said.

“Oh, Hinata, what a cute little boy.” Sakura said.

“Who does this young archer remind you of?” Hinata asked.

The girls are staring at Udon, who was dressed as someone very familiar to her.

“Well, upon my word, the notorious Kiba Inuzuka.” Sakura replied.

“That's right. Only Kiba wears a hat like that.” Hinata said smiling.

“Yeah, and look at this keen Kiba bow.” Udon said.

Outside the castle, Moegi sneezed. Sakura looked and noticed.

“Oh, Hinata, don't look around, but I do believe we're surrounded. Oh, mercy!” Sakura said.

“He snitched on us.” Tenten whispered.

“It's all right, children. Don't be afraid. Please come here.” Hinata said.

“Do you think it's safe?” Konohamaru asked, concerned.

“That's Maid Hinata.” Moegi said, recognizing her.

“Mama said she's awful nice. Come on!” Tenten said.

Tenten, Moegi and Konohamaru slipped through the gate, but Moegi tried to keep up. “Hey, you guys, not so fast. Wait for me.” Moegi said.

“I told Udon he was shooting too high.” Tenten said.

“I'm so very glad he did.” Hinata smiled as Konohamaru waved to her, shyly. “Now I get to meet all of you.”

“Gee, you're very beautiful.” Tenten said. “Are you gonna marry Kiba?”

“Mama said you and Kiba are sweethearts.” Moegi added.

Hinata blushed a bit. It's true that she always loved Kiba. “Well, um-- You see, that was several years ago before I left for Konoha.”

“Did he ever kiss you?” Konohamaru asked.

“Well, uh, no. But he carved our initials on this tree.” Hinata pointed to the lower part of the tree. The kids saw a heart with the letters. Hinata smiles “I remember it so well.”

“You gonna have any kids?” Udon asked. “My mom gots a lot of kids.”

“Oh, he's probably forgotten all about me.” Hinata sighed.

“Oh, not Kiba.” Udon said, getting out his wooden sword. “I bet he'll storm the castle gates, fight the guards, rescue ya and drag you off to Konoha Forest.”

Sakura decided to have some fun. “Now just a moment there, young man. You've forgotten Prince Itachi.”

“That old Prince Itachi don't scare me none.” Udon scoffed.

“I'm scared of Prince Itachi. He's cranky.” Konohamaru said.

Sakura cleared her throat and pretended to be like Itachi. “Ah, ah, ah, ah! I, Prince Itachi, challenge you to a duel.” Sakura took the racket and 'swordfighted” with Udon. “Hey, hey! Take that! And that! And this!”

Udon smirked. “Death to tyrants!” Sakura pretends to panic and run away with Udon chasing after her.

“Och! Och, och!” Sakura yelled.

“Slice him to pieces!” Tenten shouted.

Udon ran around Hinata.

Hinata laughed. “Oh, save me, my hero. Save me.”

Udon hit Sakura on the leg, but it didn't hurt. Sakura, as Prince Itachi held her leg as she yelped. “Oh! Ouch! That's not fair. Mommy!” Sakura whined as she held her ear and sucked her thumb.

Tenten, Konohamaru and Moegi laughed knowing that it is something the real Itachi will do, like a big baby.

“That's Prince Itachi, all right.” Tenten laughed.

Udon cheered. “Yahoo! Now I got ya!”

“Och, mercy! Mercy!” Sakura begged as she took the wooden sword and placed it under her arm. “Oh! Oh, he got me. I'm dying.” She pretended to be dead landing on the ground.

“Oh! - Did I hurt you? Huh?” Udon asked.

“No,” Sakura said, “this is the part where you drag your lady fair off to Konoha Forest.”

Hinata giggled at this.

“Come on, lady fair! Let's go!” Udon said. He held her hands and escorts her to the bushes.

“Oh, Kiba, you're so brave and impetuous.” Hinata said as she looked around. “Oh. So this is Konoha Forest.”

“Yeah, I guess so.” Udon said. “Well, now what are we gonna do?”

“Well, usually the hero gives his fair lady a kiss.” Hinata replied.

“A kiss? Oh, that's sissy stuff.” Udon said.

“Well, if you won't, then I will.” Hinata chuckled as she then kissed Udon on the cheek each.

“They're kissing!” Tenten said.

Tenten, Moegi and Konohamaru started to laugh. Udon wiped Hinata’s kiss off his cheek and glared at them. Tenten continued to laugh as she slid down on the tree and sighed happily.

Next chapter is where Hinata dreams of her hero and one day to see him.
