Chapter 5: Kidnapped

Moments later, the two flew back to Hinata’s home and landed on the windowsill.

Kiba helped Hinata off of Lee, as he said. “Oh, Hinata… Oh, wow. Something – I don’t know, something happened to me tonight. Something I never want to forget.”

Hinata smiled, as she took off her forget-me-not necklace and said. “Me too.” She placed it around Kiba’s neck, as she added. “Do not forget me.”

“Forget-me-nots!” Kiba said. He then removed a small gold ring from his finger with a red jewel on it and placed it on Hinata's ring finger, as he said. “Oh, I’ll never forget you.”

“Never never.” Hinata said.

“Kiba!” Tsunade called.

“Oh, mother.” Kiba groaned, but then froze. “Mother?!”

Sure enough, in the distance, Tsunade called out. “Kiba, come now!”

Quickly, he and Hinata went inside and Lee tried to follow, but couldn't.

“Kiba, who are those people?” asked Hinata.

“Sh-sh-sh!” Kiba shushed her and said. “There’s no time to explain. That’s the queen of the fairies, my mother.”

“Your mother?” said Hinata.

“Yeah.” Kiba said. “Look I must go now, but can I see you tomorrow?”

“But – your mother?” Hinata said. All in an instant, it dawned on her. “Then you’re the – you are-are the – tomorrow?”

“Yes, tomorrow.” Kiba told her. “Yes, I’m the prince.”

“The prince.” Hinata said in surprise.

“Yeah.” Kiba said, before he asked her. “Look, will you meet my parents?”

“Kiba!” Tsunade called again.

“Oh, say you will!” Kiba begged her.

“I – I will.” Hinata said.

“You will?” said Kiba.

“I will.” Hinata said. She laughed and threw her arms around Kiba, as she said. “I will, Prince Kiba. Yes!”

“Kiba!” Tsunade called again.

Jiraiya joined in with Tsunade. “Kiba”

“I gotta go.” Kiba said, before he turned to leave.

Hinata peeked through the glass, as she asked. “Will they like me?”

Kiba pulled her down, as he said. “Sh-sh! Get down. Yes, yes, they’ll love you. But uh, let me talk to them first. Tonight. And then I’ll be back for you in the morning.”

“Oh, then you can meet my mother.” Hinata said.

“Great!” Kiba said. “But well… wait here.”

Hinata smiled, as she said. “And then… We’ll live happily ever after.”

“Oh, much longer.” Kiba told her.

The two leaned in to kiss, but Jiraiya interrupted. “Kiba!”

Kiba groaned in annoyance, before he said. “Ooh, goodbye!” followed him outside and asked, as he got onto Lee.

Hinata followed him outside and asked, as he got onto Lee. “Oh, you won’t forget to come back, will you?”

“I promise. Whoa!” Kiba told her.

They leaned in to kiss, but Lee took off, so all Kiba could do was wave good-bye.

Hinata smiled and waved back, before she sighed and said dreamily. “Oh… Kiba. Hmm.”

Later that night, everyone was fast asleep, even Hinata, who was dreaming of her love. Outside, however, a skinny figure opened the window and glided in. Once it came to Hinata’s bedside, it looked down at the peacefully sleeping girl.

Then, without warning…

“Hmm. Gotcha!” the figure exclaimed.

The figure closed the walnut tight, trapping the girl inside.

The sound and movement woke Hinata up, as she said. “What?”

It also woke Akamaru up. He looked around in confusion, failing to notice the figure pulling the walnut towards the window.

“Hey,” Hinata shouted, “help! Help, Akamaru! Let me out of here!” He then turned and noticed the figure with the walnut shell, as Hinata cried. “Oh, Akamaru. Akamaru, help! Help me!”

Akamaru’s eyes widened, before he began growling.

The figure tried to open the window, however, Akamaru slammed the window shut.

“A dog!” The figure yelped, as Akamaru began growling at it. “Aiy, get away form me!”

Luckily, he grabbed onto the kite that had gotten tangled around his leg and used it to glide down the small stream the kidnapper was on with Hinata’s walnut, but the bridge knocked him off, while his quarry escaped below through a tunnel. He struggled to squeeze through and tried to snatch the walnut back to no avail.

Finally, the skinny figure removed the hood of its cloak to reveal that it was none other than Sakura.

The next morning found Mrs. Hyuga sitting in her chair, sobbing, after discovering that Hinata was gone. Akamaru sadly climbed up the stairs to allow his mistress to have a few moments alone.

Meanwhile, Kiba, unaware of what had happened, had just arrived on Lee, bringing gifts for Hinata.

“Hinata, oh-ooh!” Kiba said, chuckling as he dropped the small presents he bought for her. “Hinata, Hinata! Oops, got it. Hinata, it’s me! Where are you?” It was then that he noticed the state of the room and said. “Oh, what…?”

It looked like a disaster had swept through the room. Kiba flew in and when he saw a disconsolate Akamaru howling in the corner of the room, landed on his nose. Recognizing him, Akamaru barked.

“Where is she?” Kiba asked Akamaru. Akamaru whimpered in response. “What? What happened?” asked Kiba. Akamaru growled a few times. “She was stolen away? What – out the window?” Akamaru barked and nodded. “Who did it?” Akamaru whimpered, before he made the fur on his head become a pink hair. “Sakura?” Kiba said. Akamaru barked and panted. “Good dog.” Kiba said, before he flew back over to the window and said. “I’ll find her.” He mounted Lee, and Akamaru bounded over to the window, barking excitedly. “No, no, Akamaru.” Kiba said. “Look, you stay here and take care of Hinata’s mother. Let her know everything will be all right.”

With that, he flew off on Lee, as Akamaru watched with a worried whimper.

It’s a short chapter. I’ll write the next one.
Kiba returns Hinata to her windowsill and promises to come back for her the next day. After he leaves, Hinata goes to sleep in her walnut bed, and is kidnapped by Sakura.
