Chapter 7: The Best Day of Your Life

Niall saw the kingdom's town across the bridge.

He walked across the bridge as Patrick, Harry and Louis followed him.

He accidentally bumped over some people, but he quickly apologized.

Harry saw a wanted poster of him at the side of the bridge.

He tore it off, crumpled it, and shoved it into Patrick’s mouth.

He spit it out onto his face.

The wind blew the poster away as Harry and Patrick shoved each other.

Louis heard the commotion and turned around, giving them a warning look.

When the two saw the look they reverted to a natural position.

But they showed each other's shoulders.

Niall kept walking, but some people stepped on his hair, causing pain on his scalp and having a difficulty to walk forward.

Behind him Harry gathered his hair and looked around for someone to style it.

He saw a group of girls braiding each other's hair.

He whistled at them, holding up Niall's curly golden blonde hair.

The girls gasped with happiness to show they agreed to braid Niall's hair.

It took them almost half an hour to braid, but Niall did not mind.

The girls added various flowers and a big strand of rope into his hair to prevent it from becoming loose.

When they finished, Niall was impressed on how it was braided. "Thank you!" he said to them.

At the marketplace on line to buy fruit, Niall saw a mosaic of the King Bobby and Queen Maura of the Kingdom of Corona holding a baby boy.

He saw a little boy holding a flower and placing it in front of the mosaic, "It's for the lost prince." Niall stared at the mosaic portrayal of the lost prince, seeing he had curly golden blonde hair with rounded rectangular bangs and blue eyes just like him.

Throughout the rest of the day, Niall, Harry, Louis and Patrick went around the village having their own fun.

They had also befriended with the townspeople.

Before sundown, Niall hosted a dance himself at the middle of the village.

A man was playing a lute to play music.

Niall invited the other villagers to dance with him, and they all did square dances.

He tried to invite Harry to dance, but he refused.

Louis shoved Harry into the crowd, and he danced with one of the boys at the dance.

He decided to paint the middle of the village the sun.

After about forty-five minutes of painting, he invited the villagers to dance again.

At the near end of the song, he spun around dancing and then Harry managed to hold his hands together with his to end the dance.

The crowd cheered loudly with satisfaction.

Someone announced: "To the boats!" It was time for the floating lanterns to appear for the lost prince of the Kingdom of Corona.

Harry, Niall, Louis and Patrick walked to the docks.

He, Niall and Louis stepped in a gondola.

He grabbed the oar to paddle.

Harry turned around and saw Patrick feeling lonely. "Hey, Patrick!" he called, throwing a sack of apples at him.

Patrick showed a fierce look because he thought he stole them. "What? I bought them!" Said Harry.

Patrick then started eating the apples.

The bandit turned his head to his front to focus. "Most of them," he said.

Patrick stopped eating with a surprise look.

"Where are we going?" Asked Niall.

"Well, best day of your life, I figured you should have a decent seat," Harry responded.

A little later, Harry paddled to the front of the castle on the sea.

He saw Niall giving a big sigh. "You OK?" he asked.

"I've been looking out a window for eighteen years, dreaming about what it might feel like when those lights rise in the sky. What if it's not everything I dreamed it would be?" Niall responded.

Harry patted his back. "It will be."

"And what if it is? What do I do then?"

"Well, that's the good part, I guess. You get to go find a new dream." Niall smiled at Harry’s response because he understood.

At the castle Bobby and Queen Maura were dressed in their most formal clothing.

Queen Maura tried her best to comfort her husband.

She and he have been waiting for eighteen years for their lost son to come back, but will he?

She wiped a tear from King Bobby’s face.

King Bobby and Queen Maura walked to the balcony.

A lantern was lit up there.

The three walked toward it.

They raised the lantern carefully up into the sky.

As soon as the lantern was at its highest peak, the village's, the ships', and the kingdom's towns', cities', and other villages' people raised their lit lanterns to the sky.

Niall saw the lanterns rising up to the sky as he put some flowers from his braid on the water.

He leaped to the front of the gondola, clinging to the fero.

He smiled with excitement, looking at the lanterns.

Niall began to sing.

“All those days watching from the windows

All those years outside looking in

All that time never even knowing

Just how blind I've been

Now I'm here, blinking in the starlight

Now I'm here, suddenly I see

Standing here, it's all so clear

I'm where I'm meant to be

And at last I see the light

And it's like the fog has lifted

And at last I see the light

And it's like the sky is new

And it's warm and real and bright

And the world has somehow shifted

All at once everything looks different

Now that I see you

Niall turned around and saw Harry holding two lit lanterns.

He went to sit down again, and he pulled out a satchel from his side.

"I have something to give you. I should have given it to you before, but I was just scared. And the thing is, I'm not scared anymore. You know what I mean?"

Harry refuses to take the satchel and lowers it. "I'm starting to." He handed a lantern to Niall and they both lifted the them high up so they can float up in the air.

Harry starts singing.

All those days chasing down a daydream

All those years living in a blur

All that time never truly seeing

Things the way they were

Now he's here, shining in the starlight

Now he's here, suddenly I know

If he's here, it's crystal clear

I'm where I meant to go

Harry took Niall's hand and they both clasped their hands together.

Both singing.

And at last I see the light

Harry sings.

And it's like the fog has lifted

Both sang.

And at last I see the light

Niall sing.

And it's like the sky is new

Both sing.

And it's warm and real and bright

And the world has somehow shifted

All at once, everything is different

Now that I see you

As the two of them move closer, Louis watched as they blushed and closes their eyes.

Both sing the last time

Now that I see you”

Harry moves aside a strand of his golden blonde hair from his side and as they were about to kiss, he sees Nathan and James at the shore.

Their lanterns were lit up in green.

Niall opened his eyes. "Is everything OK?"

"Huh? Oh, yes, uh, huh. Yes, of course. I just..." Harry began.

He rows the gondola ashore and picks up the satchel as he gets off. "I'm sorry, everything is fine. There's just something I have to take care of."

Niall stared at the bandit. "Okay "

"I'll be right back." Harry walks away as Niall watched him.
